Aaron, standing with his brother Moses before the Pharao, changes his rod into a serpent.

7:8 dixitque Dominus ad Mosen et Aaron 7:8 And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, 7:8 Und der Herr sprach zu Mose und Aaron:
7:9 cum dixerit vobis Pharao ostendite signa dices ad Aaron tolle virgam tuam et proice eam coram Pharao ac vertatur in colubrum 7:9 When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, Shew a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent. 7:9 Wenn Pharao zu euch sagen wird: Beweist eure Wunder, so sollst du zu Aaron sagen: Nimm deinen Stab und wirf ihn vor Pharao, daß er zur Schlange werde.
7:10 ingressi itaque Moses et Aaron ad Pharaonem fecerunt sicut praeceperat Dominus tulitque Aaron virgam coram Pharao et servis eius quae versa est in colubrum 7:10 And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent. 7:10 Da gingen Mose und Aaron hinein zu Pharao und taten, wie ihnen der Herr geboten hatte. Und Aaron warf seinen Stab vor Pharao und vor seinen Knechten, und er ward zur Schlange.
7:11 vocavit autem Pharao sapientes et maleficos et fecerunt etiam ipsi per incantationes aegyptias et arcana quaedam similiter 7:11 Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. 7:11 Da forderte Pharao die Weisen und Zauberer; und die ägyptischen Zauberer taten auch also mit ihrem Beschwören:
7:12 proieceruntque singuli virgas suas quae versae sunt in dracones sed devoravit virga Aaron virgas eorum 7:12 For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents:
but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods.		 7:12 ein jeglicher warf seinen Stab von sich, da wurden Schlangen daraus; aber Aarons Stab verschlang ihre Stäbe.

In the Qur'an it is Moses who casts the rod

7:104 Moses, O Pharaoh! I am a messenger from the Lord of the Worlds,

7:105 one for whom it is right to say nothing but the truth about God. Now have I come unto you people from your Lord with a clear sign: so let the Children of Israel depart along with me.

7:106 Pharaoh said, If indeed thou hast come with a sign, show it forth, if thou tellest the truth.
7:107 Then Moses threw his rod, and behold, it was a serpent, plain for all to see.

7:108 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders.
 
Note: Moses' hand was transfigured, with a light which no Egyptian sorcerer could produce. In Islam the 'white hand' of Moses has become proverbial, a symbol of divine glory dazzling to the beholders.
