Harun is the Arabic name of the person who in the language of the Latin Bible is called 'Aaron'. Aaron was the brother of Moses. The Holy Qur'an calls Aaron 'Harun'.

I was called Haroon either after Aaron, brother of Moses, or after the famous king (khalifa) of Baghdad Harun-al-Rashid. The painting shows the visit of a European knight to Harun.
