*12* August Friedrich Immoor (1825-?) Short description August Friedrich Immoor born 13 November 1825 in Wagenfeld, "lutherisch" (Lutheran!), date and place of death: not given Father: Heinrich Wilhelm Immoor Mother: Friederike Wilhelmine Immoor, née Sander-Ufferhagel (This double-barrelled name is also rare and arouses curiosity. Not found on Internet and genealogy so far.) Marriage: August Friedrich Immoor, occupation: "Schornsteinfeger" (chimney sweep), married Anna Catharina Margaretha (spelling variant) Seliger on 6 November 1851 "beim Pfarramt Wildeshausen" (at the parish office of Wildeshausen). Klaus Bung notes: Wagenfeld is a small town in north Germany, not too far from Osnabrück and Minden. Löningen, Vechta, Ibbenbüren, which also occur on these pages, are on the same sheet of the road map. Here we have a Protestant ancestor on the Bung side of the family, a Lutheran bridegroom (12) and, as the next entry shows (13), a Roman Catholic bride. But, unlike Martin Faßbender and Paula Hantelmann, the only other mixed marriage, they marry in church. The name of the church is not given and we therefore do not know whether it is Roman Catholic or Protestant. The Roman Catholic Church, if she gives permission for mixed marriages at all, always insists that the children are brought up as Roman Catholics, which has happened in this case. The wife, or her church, has had her way. The two Protestant lines in the family are the Hantelmann family (until fairly recently) on Erika Felicitas Bung's (1911-1994) side and the Immoor family (which ceased to be Protestant a long time ago) on Hubertus Bung's side. Found on www.familysearch.org: KLARA LOUISE IMMOOR married GERD HENRICH SCHROEDER on 23 Jan 1764 in Wagenfeld. (Wagenfeld is in the Oldenburg area. There are no more Immoors from Wagenfeld, but a few more from other villages near Oldenburg.) Links
